Belize Overbooks its Cruise Ship Port

No matter what mistake you make a work today, it’s safe to say it won’t be as big as what somebody in Belize just did…

Carnival Cruises had to cancel 10 different stops in Belize City, skipping the stop for some cruises and replacing others with a stop in Costa Maya, Mexico, instead. The reason? The port overbooked its cruise terminal!

The port in Belize can accommodate four ships… but it turns out that five were booked at the same time. That means more than 30,000 passengers just had to have their trips adjusted. The affected ships are the Carnival Legend and the Carnival Glory.

This won’t affect any cruises out of Galveston (Carnival Legend sails from Tampa; Carnival Glory from Miami), but just keep in mind that cruise itineraries are subject to change!
