Smoking Policies for Galveston Cruise Lines

Any sort of judgment aside, there’s no doubt that restrictions on smoking get tighter every year. And that’s true everywhere — including cruise ships.

Justifiably, many people have questions about the smoking policies of the cruise lines departing Galveston. So we’ve tracked down the official policies of every cruise, and listed them for you below…

Smoking on Carnival Cruises Departing Galveston — Smoking is not allowed in most public areas. The only exception are the ships’ dance clubs and casino. Carnival does have specific designated open-air area of the decks where smoking is allowed.

Smoking is not allowed in staterooms. You are, however, allowed to smoke on room balconies.

Guests caught smoking in their stateroom are subject to a $250 fine.

Smoking on Royal Caribbean Cruises Departing Galveston — Smoking is not allowed in most public areas. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas. Designated areas include the casino and most night clubs. There is also an outside smoking area designated for each ship.

Passengers cannot smoke in staterooms. Guests are allow to smoke on balconies only if they face the water (some ships have inside balconies facing the Promenade).

Guests who smoke in their cabins will be hit with a $250 fine. Cigar and pipe smoking is allowed only on the ships’ cigar lounge.

Smoking on Disney Cruises Departing Galveston — Smoking is allowed only in designated areas of the ship, and never indoors. For the Disney Dream and Disney Wonder, the designated area is outdoors on Deck 4 starboard side from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the starboard side open-air decks 9 and 10 (excluding the pool area).

Smoking is not permitted in your room and is subject to a $250 fine. Smoking is permitted on balconies.

Smoking on Princess Cruises Departing Galveston — Smoking is allowed only in designated spaces, which include areas of nightclubs and the casino, the cigar lounge, and with certain marked portions of open-air decks.

Smoking is not allowed in staterooms or on balconies. Smoking in the room or balcony is subject to a $250 fine.

    Now there is no smoking on Carnival balconies.
